The winner of the Wales Environment Awards 2002 was Rockwool
Rockwool were named as the overall winners of the Wales Environment Awards 2002.
Rockwool were just one of seven winners of awards at a prestigious ceremony hosted by conservationist Bill Oddie and weatherman Bill Giles which was staged simultaneously in Ewloe, North Wales and Cardiff South Wales.
The coveted Wales Environment Awards recognise a huge range of environmental achievements of businesses and organisations across Wales. First Minister Rhodri Morgan, in a foreword to the awards, said: “Wales may be a small nation in world terms but we have a big role to play in the global quest to live our lives sustainably.”
ARENA Network chairman Brian Charles said, “The standard of entries or this year’s awards was extremely high and this clearly demonstrates the huge effort companies and organisations across Wales are continuing to put into environmental best practice.”
