Under the Thatch provides 23 historic and unusual self-catering holiday accommodation properties across Wales, most being located in West Wales. The company lets its own properties (9) and a further 14 which meet their criteria for conservation/restoration and profits are used to rescue further historic buildings that are at risk.

Environmental Achievements

• Restoration using "green" building technologies such as lambswool insulation, lime-based building materials, reed bed sewage systems and wood burning stoves
• Re-seeded landscape areas around accommodation using grass cuttings from surrounding biodiversity-rich meadows
• Community sustainability - restores only buildings that are out of use and employs local staff on a year-round basis
