Hafod Elwy Hall is a remote 14th century house in 60 acres of mountain moorland in Denbigh at the head of Llyn Alwen. The hotel opened as guest accommodation in 2005 and uses produce from the garden and rare breed livestock to provide food for guests.

Environmental Achievements

  • Wind turbine generates 5kWh of electricity, saving over 50% in energy purchase costs
  • CO2 emissions reduced by 50%
  • Tree planting will offset residual emissions and coppicing will provide fuel for biomass
