Company Profile

Phoenix Community Furniture Scheme collects redundant furniture and household effects including white goods and paint. These goods are checked, repaired where possible, and are then made available to people on low incomes or state benefits, including pensions. The organisation is an accredited centre for OCN for carpentry, joinery and Health & Safety.

The scheme is based in Newtown and Llandrindod Wells, and covers Montgomery and North Radnorshire.

Environmental Achievements

• Furniture landfill diversion increased from 58 tonnes in 2004/5 to 396 tonnes in 2006/7
• Water use reduced by 28 litres per week using a water bag system.
• Replaced old showroom heating system with efficient programmable gas fired boiler
